Refined Sugar

For years they’ve told us that fat is the enemy and that if you eat low fat you’ll lose your belly fat, yet two third of people out there are still overweight.

In addition to robbing your bones of vital minerals, research continues to prove that sugar is making AND keeping you fat at an alarming rate.

Here’s how sugar makes you fat… it’s stored as glycogen in your muscles and liver. However when it’s not used as energy, your body is the greatest chemist of all and so it converts stored glycogen into belly fat.

Anytime you have filled your body with excess sugar your liver’s storage capacity is exceeded. When the liver is maximally full, or if you don’t burn off the sugar that you’ve eaten, the excess sugar is converted by the liver into fat and stored wherever you tend to store adipose fat cells, including, but not limited to, the popular regions of the stomach, arms, hips, butt, and thighs.

Unfortunately, since our modern diet contains 20 times as much sugar as the diet of our great grand grandparents, that unless you run a marathon every weekend, it’s virtually impossible to burn off all that stored glycogen which is why your body then converts it into fat and stores it causing you to gain weight even though you eat low fat.

Grains

A diet high in grains is naturally high in carbohydrates. This is a problem because your body has a limited capacity to store grained based carbohydrates and it can easily convert those unneeded carbohydrates into excess body fat, just like it does with sugar.

Low-calorie, high-carbohydrate diets generate a series of biochemical signals in your body that will take you out of balance, making it more difficult to access stored body fat for energy. As a result: you'll reach a weight-loss plateau, beyond which you simply can't lose any more weight, and that’s the reason why most diets fail.

It’s also easy to find yourself bloated when eating food items that are filled with grains since these items are high in calories, high in carbs and contain “anti-nutrient” compounds that interfere with your body’s digestion and ability to absorb nutrients causing you to constantly feel hungry and overeat.

Gluten

You may think that you’re safe eating gluten, but studies show that one in three people are sensitive to gluten, and it doesn’t always show itself as celiac disease or leaky gut syndrome, but rather more often as water retention, bloating, and extreme fatigue.

But gluten is a cheap filler to add to foods and so “big food” companies continue to poison our food supply with it. After all, they’re not so concerned with your health… only their bottom-line.

With the significant increase in gluten intake over the past 50 years due to the overconsumption of products made with highly refined wheat flour, we are just beginning to understand gluten's detrimental impact on our health.

As a society, we are in a state of "gluten overload," which triggers unpleasant symptoms such as stomach pains, bloat, heartburn, joint pains, headache, skin rashes, fatigue, insomnia and brain fog.

Dairy

According to USA Today, 75% of adults have a decrease in lactase activity.

Why does this matter?

Without lactase your body doesn't have the necessary enzyme to break down the lactose found in dairy products.… and this means painful bloated belly syndrome which adds inches to your waistline.

In addition to the difficulty that you have in digesting dairy, most dairy products are very rich in calories that cause fat to build up around your waist, thighs and arms.

And that’s not what you want when you’re trying to lose weight and get healthy.

Soy

Sure, we’ve all heard that 93% of soy is genetically modified and has one of the highest pesticide contamination rates of any food on the planet.

Soy also has a high concentration of substances which block production of your thyroid hormone. When your thyroid is underproductive it zaps your energy, your metabolism crashes and weight gain becomes automatic. Your thyroid is responsible for regulating your metabolism and maintaining energy levels.
